Lille Trombone Festival

They don’t need any introduction. Trainees and spectators at the Sébastopol in 2018 still remember them. And, after the show put on by their trombonist, Zoltan Kiss, on the Lille Conservatoire stage at the Lille Trombone Festival in 2025, they’re back this time at the Lille Grand Palais Théâtre with their brand-new show: Strau$$. This is their exclusive first date in France!

But one thing is certain: it’s sure to be a memorable evening, given Mnozil Brass’s ability to revisit the classics with a touch of madness. So, for this new show, they reveal only that “Strauss was the precursor of a nonchalance flirting between genres. He was the first to churn out hits; he hired an arranger to work faster, and realized that with his brothers, he could spread his music around the world. Strauss was the first to abolish the boundaries between popular and scholarly culture and, as King of the Waltz, became a mass phenomenon. The cash registers have never
sounded so loud”.
In Strauss, the Mnozil Brass truly reveals everything about Strauss. “Right down to the smallest detail. All that’s left is the naked truth”. The Mnozil Brass was born out of the meeting and friendship of 7 young musicians in 1993, who came together for concerts at the “Gasthaus Mnozil”, just across the road from the Vienna Conservatory of Music in Austria. Among the founding members was trombonist Gerhard Füßl. Together with the two other trombonists who have since joined the Mnozil, Leohnard Paul in 1996, and Zoltan Kiss, in 2005, who will be acclaimed by the 175 trombonists on the LTF course.
